Eudora Configuration

The following steps are required to configure Eudora:

1. The first time you run Eudora, a Setup window will be displayed automatically, if not, choose Tools, Options
2. In Getting Started, set the POP account to your email address which is:
login_name@mail.host1.com.au as in the following figure:

3. Under Personal Information set your return address
4. Under Hosts set the SMTP address to be:
mail.host1.com.au - as in the following figure (unless you are dialled up to another ISP, in which case you will need to use their SMTP server - eg mail.otherisp.com.au):

mailconfig-eudora2.gif (7623 bytes)

5. Under Checking Mail set Check for mail every 10 minutes, check Send on check and leave the other options unchecked, set Authentication Style to Passwords

Note: do NOT check the "Leave mail on server" option, if you do and the disk with your mail runs out of space your mail will be deleted automatically. If you need to check your mail in more than one location, set it to delete mail from server after, say, 10 days so that mail does not accumulate, but will give you a chance to download it in more than one location

To check for mail simply select File, Check Mail
